[Pkg-vala-maintainers] Bug#671648: [valac] The latest upstream version of Valac is 0.17.0 and Debian Sid ships with 0.14.2.

Debian sid currently provides valac in 4 branches:
 * 0.10
 * 0.12
 * 0.14
 * 0.16

The 0.10 and 0.12 branch will be removed in the next weeks. 0.17 is
a *devel* release of the 0.18 branch and not yet packaged. The valac
package is a package, which currently depends on valac-0.14.

If you want valac in version 0.16 you can install "valac-0.16",
which contains a binary called valac-0.16. /usr/bin/valac is a
symlink managed by update-alternatives (see manpage for more
information).
