We are currently preparing all packages ready to be used on Sarge, so

Yes I think that would be a problem in Debian. But the packages 
available at my site
are now completely source-compatible to the official Debian/Alitoh-VDR. 
They should
compile and run outside the c't VDR distribution without any problems.
