The patch changes the API which would require all plugin versions to be
increased,  but it could and should be rewritten, to avoid this.

Has anybody contacted Klaus regarding this issue? If Klaus is willig to
add this functionallity to VDR 1.5.x, I would have no problem with
adding this patch to the Debian package.

Yes, it is. Unfortunately everyone on the list, including me,  seems to
be a little bit busy at the moment.
