Package: vim
Version: 6.0.036-1
Severity: normal

Vim doesn't highlight the $foo in this correctly, instead coloring the
whole "$foo:bar" in the same color:

print "$foo:bar"; # $foo is a variable

It does highlight these variants properly:

print "$foo :bar";
print "$foo::bar"; # $foo::bar is a variable

Seems it doesn't realize that a single colon after a variable name in
quoted text signals the end of the variable name, and gets confused and
things that "$foo:" is not a variable at all.

I think this is a new problem in vim 6. I guess its perl mode has some
problems with colons in general; see my earlier "TODO:" bug report.

No longer applies to vim version currently packages. "$foo:bar" is now
correctly colored with one color per "$foo" and another for ":bar".

Closing this bug.

Cheers.
