vim-latexsuite doesn't work in etch

Hi, i recently installed vim-latexsuite on my pure etch distribution:

vim 1:7.0-122+1etch3
vim-common 1:7.0-122+1etch3
vim-latexsuite 20060325-1

I copied the Bram Moolenaar's .vimrc example file and add the settings
described in the vim-latexsuite's page (file indent, setgrepprg and that
stuff), i got an E174 error:

>>vim test.tex

E174: error processing /usr/share/vim/addons/plugin/remoteOpen.vim
line 33: the command already exists, add "!" to override it
line 34: the command already exists, add "!" to override it

It is not a fatal error, vim starts, and have latex highlight, but no
functionality of the latex suite. I commented the 33 and 34 lines in the
remoteOpen.vim file, the E174 goes away, but the latex suite still don't
work.

I already searched a lot of web pages, the best i found was a couple of
ubuntu threads talking about a problem in the runtime path (not including
the /usr/share/vim/addons in it), but my debian.vim has it.

I also read about the new vim-policy and the vim-addons package, but i got
etch, not lenny, i mean, in the stable things should work the old way, no?.
Anyway, i backported vim-addons, but on reinstalling vim-latexsuite, no
.yaml in the registry, no vim-registry(5) man page, and of course "ignoring
unknown addon" results from running "vim-addon-manager".

Any clue about what is happening here?

Thanks in advance for your answers.
