Package: vim
Severity: wishlist

I often use vim from within an SSH session to a machine with no gvim,
with TERM=gnome-256color. As the name says, this terminal supports 256
colors. Since the number of possible colors is so large (and
programmable), it would be nice if vim could highlight using the gui
colors, or at least add an additional method for highlighting on 88- or
256-color terminals.
