I think it is wrong to include init scripts as part of VirtualBox
package, because upstream does not provide it, and it makes sense to
establish new upstream project for those, and update those separately.
In your place I would make a separate package for virtualbox-initscripts

That said, I'm very happy with your efforts.

Official backports:
If you want your backport to become official, maybe it makes sense to
use Debian VirtualBox 4.1.x (from testing) packages to compile this
again Squeeze.
This will ensure that they have passed a minimum testing of the
"unstable" branch.
