From debian/control:

[quote]
Package: virtualbox-guest-utils
Architecture: amd64 i386
Depends: adduser, pciutils, ${misc:Depends}, ${shlibs:Depends}
Conflicts: time-daemon, ntp
Provides: time-daemon
Replaces: time-daemon
Recommends: virtualbox-guest-dkms (= ${source:Version}) | virtualbox-guest-source (= ${source:Version}) | virtualbox-guest-modules
Suggests: virtualbox-guest-x11 (= ${binary:Version})
Description: x86 virtualization solution - non-X11 guest utilities
VirtualBox is a free x86 virtualization solution allowing a wide range
of x86 operating systems such as Windows, DOS, BSD or Linux to run on a
 Linux system.
 .
This package provides the non-X11 guest utilities for VirtualBox. These
utilities are meant to be run inside the virtual machine.
They provide closer integration and allow to share data through shared folders
between the host system and the virtual machine.
 .
Either the virtualbox-guest-dkms or the virtualbox-guest-source package is
also required in order to compile the kernel modules needed for
 virtualbox-guest-utils.

That is why I opened a bug[1], which was closed within 8 minutes.

I think virtualbox-guest-utils (v-g-u) have to fix the issue with ntp
instead remove it.

The main problem is that the ntp server was not designed to run inside
of a virtual machine. But is here is a server.

And one other point is the setup of the v-g-u time server. Search on
virtualbox.org[1] found nothing about it at the first two sites.

So I need your comments about it.

Many thanks!
