[Pkg-vnc-devel] vnc and xpra

Hi,

I've run almost all my graphical applications through VNC both at home
and work for several years now. Today I feel confident to say that I am
probably migrating most of my activities from VNC to xpra. xpra is very
new and still buggy but I thought you might want to know that it
exists. Some highlights:

- already in debian (experimental)
- small codebase (C + python)
- main idea: runs unmodified Xvfb and connects to it as a composition
  manager to get access to the composition buffer of each window.
  => If xpra crashes your applications don't die. You can simply restart
     xpra.
- original upstream: http://code.google.com/p/partiwm/wiki/xpra
- a recent fork that uses xpra as a building block for a more complete
  solution (think pulseaudio, cups, desktop notifications):
