 I strongly agree with Mark here. To tie together two different upstream
tarballs is something that in my opinion should be avoided unless there
is no other option. And for sounds creating a new package is quite easy.

 About the ITP, I want to ask you not to do it. Please, prepare a patch
instead that can be applied to svn repository, and soon or later a new
version with that patch included will be uploaded (I guess that soon, as
Debconf5 is near ;-)

 The same goes for Tzafir. Please, could you provide your fixes in
little chunks that can be applied to SVN? Currently I don't have much
spare time, and I cannot spend a lot of time trying to extract
interesting things from your packages.
