I think you're right, asterisk should only be a dependency of the binary
package. I don't have a chroot here, I'll confirm it later and create a
new package.

A lot of changes, quixote 1.X and quixote 2 are not compatibles, but
quixote1 works without problems on sarge.

That could be a bug, but, why do you would have an
unconfigured /etc/hosts even localhost and 127.0.0.1?
