I was packaging Unicall and MFC/R2 (recent versions) and it requires a more 
updated SpanDSP to work properly in some Asterisk environments I use to 
touch. Lots of people in Brazil does need it, since old versions of SpanDSP 
are buggy for our deployments.

Anyway, if it's not needed to get an update (and I think it does), it's up to 
the maintainer to decide, which unfortunately isn't me. Thanks,
