Excellent. However, please keep the discussion on list:
pkg-voip-maintainers at lists.alioth.debian.org as there are a few of us
involved..

Our svn archive is where we do most our good work! Have a look at the
instructions at:

http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-voip/README?op=file&rev=0&sc=0

asterisk-1.2.13 is already looking pretty solid and should be migrating
from sid to etch in the next couple of days:
http://bjorn.haxx.se/debian/testing.pl?package=asterisk

But please if you can send a diff from the svn archive to this mailing
list and we should be able to encorporate it very quickly. Note that the
freeze for etch is expected very shortly so we are currently cleaning up
final issues before etch is released in December.

We have started packaging asterisk-1.4 under:
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-voip/asterisk/branches/experimental/?rev=0&sc=0

We are using this as a bit of a sandbox, ideally I would like to package
using cdbs, but we shall see. Once we get something working we will
release to the debian experimental distribution. While the rest of the
user community beds down with asterisk 1.2.

That's what we are here for... :-)

That's exactly what we are doing in svn.debian.org, we have the scripts
setup to build the various versions of asterisk, also for the various
versions of debian/ and ubuntu...

Check out the svn-buildpackage command from the README above.

No youhave the right place, we are just a little focused on getting etch
out the door, but if you send to pkg-voip-maintainers you will get the
right bunch.

Sounds Good...
