Bug#408903: ser mysql reconnect database problem

Package: ser-mysql-module
Version: 0.9.6-2
Severity: important

I have noticed in version 0.9.6-2 that ser would loose its database connection
and not reconnect, after the mysql database had been restarted.

Following messages in /var/log/syslog after mysql has been restarted:
sip /usr/sbin/ser[12211]: is_local(): Error while querying database
sip /usr/sbin/ser[12211]: submit_query(): MySQL server has gone away
sip /usr/sbin/ser[12211]: submit_query(): Error while submitting query

This problem has been fixed upstream in early version:
http://lists.iptel.org/pipermail/serusers/2006-April/027961.html

I then got hold of early versions ser and ser-mysql-module packages. Version
0.9.6-1.1 seems to have the problem, but version 0.9.6-0.1 does not. I can
restart mysqld with version 0.9.6-0.1 and ser seems to reconnect fine and
allow registrations.

Kernel: 2.6.15-1-686-smp
Architecture: i386
libc6: 2.3.6.ds1-10
mysql-client-5.0: 5.0.32-2
