Opt/Debug overhead for Debian packages

Hi Craig,

regarding the discussion we've had about how to properly package PWLib/OPAL
and the upcoming versions of PTLib/OPAL I've just shared my experience with
the team here at the Debian VoIP meeting in Extremadura. We've wondered
whether it would also be an option to only ship the debug version and drop
the opt build completely (in addition to dropping the notrace build). I
remember from OTS that you reckon this is a serious performance impact and
not recommended. Yet I don't remember the figure how much we actually loose
by forcing the debug version on everyone. Could you please give us an
estimated magnitude of what to expect to make this a bit easier to rate the
overhead of maintaining different code subsets against the performance
benefits?

Thanks!
