Indeed partially maintained in FreePBX . Let's just drop this package.
If there will ever be some demand, someone might try to separate it out
from FreePBX.

As for freepbx and freepbx-modules that were not on that list: I still
need to update the package to 2.4.0 and then consider what to do
exactly. Most of the base package gets overriden by upstream in "module"
packages in a very ugly way. This currently suggests a single and
self-packaged freepbx package. Or a better idea from someone in the
crowd.

BTW: anybody wants to take a look at the postgresql, jabber and imap
integration done in Druid OSE (http://voiceroute.org/ )? I don't have
much experince with postgresql. I wonder if anything that they do could
be packaged.
