Hello team,

I've just been told that kiax development has been restarted months ago, code
base has been completely rewritten and currently reached a reasonable level
of stability. I haven't found any time yet to look at it more closely, but at
least what I read at the project page [1] sounds promising: no more embedded
library code, GCC 4 clean, Qt 4.4, noise reduction filter, though I'm not
exactly sure if it relies on any non-free code, haven't checked that yet. I'm
also not exactly sure how G711, iLBC codecs are supported and if there are
any non-free bits in their implementations, need to check that too.

Finally, my personal opinion is (if there are no non-free bits and all systems
go) that we want that piece of code in Debian. What do you think ?
