Me too suspect we agree on the end goal.  I just found your initial
approach with asking everyone to ensure newcomers are subscribed to the
list to be a bit off the mark, which to me is making newcomers feel
welcome and help them get to know the area, not make demands. :)

I do not know if I am critizising you or someone else regarding the lack
of followup with the requests to join the team, as I do not know who
feel responsible for processing such applications.  I suspect no-one
feel it, as I am sure I do not feel it, and no-one did process these
applications for two years.  But I hope I am wrong. :)

On an related note, I am very happy to see our discussion causing
several people to join the IRC channel, where I hope day to day
coordination can take place. :)
