I imagine it might be a bug in one of the packages you upgraded; I had
a quick look around (in particular at nvidia-graphics-drivers since
the diversions there have changed quite a bit recently) but didn't
find anything suspicious.

I'll leave this bug open for now, so that it can be reassigned if you
(or someone else) find the actual culprit!
