At this point, it is way to early to tell. The archive has just opened,
and there have been some critical changes in debhelper infrastructure
because of the new xorg7 in debian, which is causing FTBFS breakage of
half the archive. Long story short: The next weeks will hopefully be
invested in merging infrastructure changes from debian unstable into
edgy.

For the question about the ifupdown replacement: Scott wants to replace
it with 'something udev based'. I haven't seen a spec about it, but
without doubt, it will be discussed in Paris[1]. The Summit will go
until 23rd June 2006, so expect an update about this topic around that
date.
