(hopefully there is still time left for this . . .).

Tonight I made first attempts to configure a WPA-client bridge via our scripts 
and that of bridge-utils with s.th. like:

iface br0 inet static
        address 192.168.0.3
        network 192.168.0.0
        broadcast 192.168.0.255
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        gateway 192.168.0.254
        bridge-ports eth0 ath0
        bridge-maxwait 5
        wpa-bridge br0
        wpa-iface ath0
        wpa-ssid kelnet
        wpa-psk *****

And the scripts worked out fine afaict, but the damned madwifi driver has 
issues with certain bridging setups . . . Topology of ath0 cycled after 
initially associating fine and first packets were sent at it.

So, I declared a partial success.
