I just wanted to add some noise here. I couldn't reliably connect to
any wireless networks since somewhen in december. It took me a while to
notice how bad it was because at home the laptop is running 24/7, and
after maybe 20-30 minutes or more the connection would be established
randomly. I have used tethering with my mobile phone for two weeks now,
until I finally found this bug report.

Disabling MAC randomization fixed all connection problems for me with
two different cards using wpasupplicant 2.6-3:

- Broadcom Limited BCM43142 802.11b/g/n (wl)
- ATHEROS USB2.0 WLAN (ath9k_htc)
