Sure. The .orig.tar.gz files do not include the epoch in any case.
However, the source package was already uploaded and accepted into the
PPA, and now you cannot replace the old source package with the same
version number but different contents. That's pretty much literal from
the message you've quoted above.

You now need to wait for the version number to increase from 57 to 58,
it should work then.

This is one of the reasons why I hate epochs.
