I personally don't want to support anything else then the offical kernel 
version that xen support. Any other combination would be unsupported by the 
xen community and I personally cannot fix kernel related issues that I don't 
understand myself.

even if it's not a really "cool" solution, because for each new (upstream) 
release the patch file has to be generated and added, I would agree that this 
is maybe the easiest solution for all the kernel related problems (at least 
for now).
