I'm afraid I've never seen or heard of this anywhere else. I've tried
repeatedly restarting xend on a Wheezy system and this doesn't happen
there (I don't currently have a Squeeze machine handy, nor do I have any
libvirt stuff set up). You could perhaps try the Wheezy version, this
might have been fixed upstream at some point.

Are you using managed domains? (that is "xm new" rather than "xm
create") You could try poking around under /var/lib/xend/state/ to see
if the additional domain 0 is somehow coming from there.

Otherwise I can't think of anything, you could try the libvirt mailing
list. Unfortunately xend is mostly unmaintained upstream these days
(replaced by xl in 4.2 onwards and xcp-xapi for some use cases).
