Version: 4.0.6-1
Severity: normal

If you have some tree items selected, then click on an unselected item, the
previously selected items are unselected (of course). However, if you hold the
mouse button for longer than about .3 sec, they become selected again. This can
be quite dangerous because you might not even see them if you scrolled up or
down; then you could delete them without noticing (almost happened to me with
some pretty important stuff).

I suspect this behavior is intented so you can select some items, then release
the mouse button, and then drag them somewhere (unlike in the old xftree, where
this would have caused only one item to be dragged). So I think it is just
missing a check whether the item that was clicked on was previously selected or
not.

Right, upstream say this is how it's supposed to behave when GTK mouse
selection isn't checked.

Either use GTK mouse selection or put up with it I guess.

Upstream say they've removed the non-GTK mouse selection stuff by
default in newer versions.
