does this mean the debian build servers  also must have it installed? Is it
part of build-essential then?
I did not know about this  requirement, I thought build-essential is the
only exception.
Ok I'll ask around ubuntu irc to see what is the status of this issue as I
know that not only xfce packages were affected.

4.2.3 got ACCEPTED but on the site 4.2.2 is listed. Maybe it did blow up
after all ;)
Seriously I don't know the reason, but since 4.2.2 libxfcegui4 did not have
xinerama support
a few xfce packages which failed to build got their own xinerama build-dep
in ubuntu . I'll wait then to see if 4.2.3 debian packages build on ubuntu,
as grepping xfce sources shows that xinerama is not very much used.
