Sometimes they think they could call their release x.y-alpha1 but they don't
because
they dont have time and it would be as arbitrary as a daily snapshot. I am
talking
about code which is nearing beta as xfce upstream is not any random point in
time (xfmedia currently)

 I think if it's good enough for us to use it's good enough for eager users.

well uploads from time to time of a recent daily snapshot which the
uploader tested
this assumes uploader watches what goes on upstream (at least changelogs if
not code)

Right now I am pretty sure most of xfce 4.3 could be used by users of an
unstable distro.

Unlikely to be that grave, but even so people using dapper (dunno about sid)
assume this risk. And  the breakage in xfce (except maybe thunar) could not
really
cause data loss or similar only crashes and so.

Though, asking them for releases («being curious, poking, nudging»)
