I really don't know. I don't even know if it's enabled here. I've tried
to rebuild it with --enable-compositor, and run it with --compositor=on,
but it does nothing (it should display shadows on windows and
transparency on panel, but..).

--enable-compositor in debian/rules
Build-Depends: libxcomposite-dev in debian/control
maybe --compositor=off in startxfce4

In README.Debian, recall what hidden options need to set the compositing
settings.

If they are not present I guess compositor isn't enabled, but I don't
know the overhead. Could someone try to use it ?
