Okay, thanks.  I don't suppose there is anyway of making this easier to
find for new users?  Is it on the wiki?  (Not that I thought to look
there, but someone might).  What about as a 'tip'?

That and appfinder to fill in details for panel launchers are two things
that I think could use greater prominence (maybe a README on the
desktop in the default install?) for new users.
