Yeah, I have the same feeling. I don't really know where we are going
with the *kit stuff, but we have a special hal rule to enable powerdev
people to do special stuff, which is not shared by every distribution.

They seem ok atm. I'll include in the Debian packages, and open an
upstream bug to discuss about it. (especially distribution-specific
issues, to manage to drop then, have generic tips, and still have them
useful)
