You don't want to talk to pkg-xfce-devel at lists.alioth.debian.org for
this.

This is a debian-installer error.  It would tend to suggest you don't
have the kernel udebs around.  Try a recent installer from:
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/
or if you're installing etch see:
http://www.debian.org/releases/etch/debian-installer/
