Thanks for a quick reply.

I cannot say if it is done by *all* updates, I usually don't check all
updated packages and their versions in detail. But I am sure that the
last update has broke my panel again.

It seems that I cannot add more than one xkb plugin at once. So I would
expect that it has one 'common' configuration that is reused when I add
new instance of plugin to the panel.

But even if the configuration is saved per-instance, it should survive the
update. In that case there is a possibility, that problem is only
the disappearance of plugin from panel. The fact that configuration
is lost is only side effect of adding new 'clean' plugin instance.

I have found some config files in the location you have mentioned:
---------
vainee at fujitsu:~/.config/xfce4/panel$ ls -l xkb-plugin-*
-rw-r--r-- 1 vainee vainee 49 Mar 6 2009 ./xkb-plugin-115046251116.rc
-rw-r--r-- 1 vainee vainee 189 Mar 6 2009 ./xkb-plugin-12363295470.rc
-rw-r--r-- 1 vainee vainee 200 Nov 16 10:20 ./xkb-plugin-12412914230.rc
-rw-r--r-- 1 vainee vainee 188 Nov 26 10:52 ./xkb-plugin-12585394190.rc
-rw-r--r-- 1 vainee vainee 200 Dec 1 10:48 ./xkb-plugin-12595754280.rc
-rw-r--r-- 1 vainee vainee 208 Dec 7 13:36 ./xkb-plugin-12598451011.rc
-rw-r--r-- 1 vainee vainee 200 Jan 18 09:56 ./xkb-plugin-12602898152.rc
-rw-r--r-- 1 vainee vainee 200 Jan 29 15:59 ./xkb-plugin-12641426570.rc
-rw-r--r-- 1 vainee vainee 200 Feb 12 16:14 ./xkb-plugin-12651040900.rc
-rw-r--r-- 1 vainee vainee 212 Mar 2 12:32 ./xkb-plugin-12675158470.rc
---------
So I can really get old config files. Maybe you can find the real versions
of problematic xkb-plugin updates from the modification dates of files
(I don't change the configuration while it works well). I do an update
at least once a week.

I will try to re-install the plugin when I come home today and I will look
for some details that could help with analysis.

Regards,
Pavel
