No, they aren't, but I haven't tested them lately...

I start X using plain 'startx', and I have

% cat .xsession
exec xfce4-session

According to that readme, which I had no tangible reason to check until you
just told me :) this file is used:

% dpkg -S /etc/X11/Xsession.d/90consolekit
consolekit: /etc/X11/Xsession.d/90consolekit

So I guess I do need that stuff.

I just logged out and restarted X, to make sure this got activated, and
xfpm no longer disables the hibernate option. Yay.
I'll test it in a minute...

Yes, the button stopped working after one semi-random squeeze upgrade...
