I have these themes: Raleigh, thEmacs, Chocolate, Rainbow.

I suspect the latter are differently colored variants of the earlier.

I also tried the themes from gnome-themes, gnome-themes-extras and
gnome-themes-more and see no difference although the themes install some
engines.

Neither do I.

In most all the UIM icons would be displayed in the place for one icon
(icewm, lxpanel, fbpanel) and gnome-panel crashes for me.
