Ok, sorry, I was wrong. What happens is that xscreensaver forces the
extension in the desktop file which confuses xfce4-settings. This is
already fixed in xscreensaver but not yet uploaded (see
http://git.debian.org/?p=collab-maint/xscreensaver.git;a=commitdiff;h=9d9bd3e719871f7945ec9132932eb5d4b29ac540)
