[Pkg-xfce-devel] Bug#688756: lightdm: no greeter: `Can't launch X server X, not found in path`

Dear Debian folks,


installing `lightdm` it runs, but the greeter does not show up. :/ Only
a blinking cursor in the top left corner on VT 7.

Somehow the X server is just closed

        $ sudo more /var/log/Xorg.0.log
        […]

and LightDM does not find a X server.
