When I saw the problem these icon themes were installed:

	- hicolor-icon-theme
	- oxygen-icon-theme

that is, the minimal needed to get all the package dependencies
satisfied. As you know, oxygen-icon-theme is a qt theme.

Under those circumstances, a newly created XFCE desktop environment
using the default configuration looks like the attached png file.
