There's no such thing as the Xfce file dialog. It's a GTK widget.

Note that mousepad doesn't have a text entry.

I've just tried in lowriter in Wheezy and Sid. The behavior is as
described on Wheezy, but is correct (completion works fine) on Sid, so
it seems fixed in a later version than the one in Jessie.

In any case, it's a GTK+ issue, not an Xfce one, so I'm reassigning.
