 Please see #1768 for the python part to get rid of $ZENHOME.

 As it does not make sense to move the bin/* files out of the Zenoss
 instance, as this would stop people form installing more than one
 instance, I suggest to create a script which creates all the needed
 scripts as soon as it's pointed to a directory in $directory/bin.
 This should be pretty easy, as most of the bin-scripts are really tiny.
 This 'create'-script could also take care of deprecated scripts and remove
 them.
 This is just an idea which jumped up my mind some days ago....



 I think having a lot of your dependencies installed in the zenoss home is
 not too bad for you, as installing it properly in some random system is
 pretty hard. The only thing that makes packaging Zenoss really hard is
 $ZENHOME and the high number of scripts using it to include
 zenfunctions.... *arrgh* ;)
