[ZMS-Developer list in CC. The topic is whether we should keep
a ZMS Debian package inside official Debian or not. Please
speak up now if there are interested persons.]

I was the first who packaged ZMS which is interesting in principle and
actively developed. I needed it for a certain project that is currently
nearly finished and the system which is hosting it will not be updated
until it ends. So my interest in zope-zms tends to zero which is not a
good basis to maintain a package. The package is listed in
popularity contest way to low to make an evidence that it is really
needed:
     http://popcon.debian.org/all-popcon-results.txt.gz .
On the other hand popularity-contest might be a little bit misleading
because the box that runs my system is a server machine I do not
want any unneded software sending mails around - so the use cases
might be hidden from popcon.

In short: If somebody wants to take over the package I would be
happy. If this person is no Debian developer I would happily volunteer
to sponsor the package. If there is noone interested we might
think about a removal of ZMS because it is better to have no
package than an unmaintained one that might be broken when
we upgrade Zope.

Kind regards

            Andreas.
