The Debian Zope team is more active these last weeks than it was before.
We are making real progress, though. :)

Currently, the goal is to have every Zope packages in shape for etch.
The remaining issues are listed on the Debian wiki [1]. Right now, your
RC bug against zope-cmfforum is the last release critical bug we need to
tackle. We agreed on removing other RC buggy packages from Debian
completely (they are already dead upstream).

The Debian Zope team could really use some help! We currently have an
Alioth project [2], a Subversion repository [3] to coordinate our
efforts, and an IRC channel [4]. You are welcome to join us if you want
to help on Zope packages.

Work on new packages (for etch+1) can already begin and be sent to
experimental (e.g zope2.10). We also need help in testing, as the
large amount of packages are some time hard to test, especially on real
data. Upgrading path from sarge to etch have also not been very well
documented IMHO, and it could be nice to have something written for our
users.
