[Python-apps-team] Bug#568471: mayavi2 crashes because of libvtkproblem

Hi,
I also have problems with libvtk. When typing 'mayavi2', I get:

Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "/usr/bin/mayavi2", line 461, in <module>
     raise ImportError(msg)
ImportError: /usr/lib/libvtkIO.so.5.4: symbol av_init_packet, version  
LIBAVFORMAT_52 not defined in file libavformat.so.52$

Do you have vtk installed properly?
VTK (and build instructions) can be obtained from http://www.vtk.org


Same message appears, when trying to load a tvtk-python module.
