indeed I also get the segfault now:

$ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/atlas/sse2/libblas.so.3 python test.py
About to multiply
Segmentation fault
$ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/atlas/sse/libblas.so.3 python test.py
About to multiply
Multiplied
