the python3 transition in debian is, thanks to upstream, just running
setup.py with python3 and taking care of some wrong shebangs lintian
reports.
I have committed my invasive patch to svn with an additional
wrap-and-sort to make it easier to merge the dependency changes.
I'm not really familiar enough with all aspects of the package to add
myself to the maintainers, but I'm subscribed to the package in debian
and will take care of python3 bugs caused by the patch.
