Welcome aboard!
| hardisk quantian... Maybe automatizing it with kickstart...
Like any other Knoppix-based system, use the three-step procedure
i) boot Quantian
ii) copy to disk using the 'knx2hd' script aka 'knoppix-installer'
iii) enjoy
Seriously, this is documented exceedingly well at www.knoppix.net, or in the
different Knoppix books.

No. In theory, these are largely plain Debian packages so you could just
apt-get update. In practice, some will have Knoppix modifications. Klaus is
getting much better at placing his code into little custom packages
knoppix-$foo for various values of $foo. But still, those have no Debian
equivalent, so they'd get stale. Likewise, the 'Quantian but not Debian' part
would get stale.
So in sum, this is an open problem with no crystal-clear solution I can see.
| In fact, i'm evaluating changing 6 pcs to quantian, to work with clusters, but

The *really nice* think that you get to use these six pc without a single
installation. How? Boot one PC off the DVD or using one of the disk-based
methods, launch the openmosixterminalserver and have the five other boot off
the fist -- presto, a six PC cluster. Enjoy your wide grin ;-)
| Thanks to all, and happy new year!
Likewise!
