I just burned the ISO image using the "Burn ISO image". I even checked the
MD5 hash using k3b, so the DVD has the system, and not just the ISO in it.
Funnily enough, in the computers at work it boots up (I get the blackboard
penguin), and it starts booting up, but stops with a kernel panic sayint it
cannot mount the root FS. Issuing the noapic blah blah options, it stops
complaining about an unknown graphics card. So maybe the DVD was knackered,
but a previous version I tried using (burned by a friend) was also unuseable
in my home laptop (fairly new acer Aspire 1360) and on my home desktop
computer (fairly old Duron system). Other systems that boot from a CD (not a
DVD) work fine in either box. Could this be a DVD-related problem? Other
DVDs (films and data) work fine, but this is the only booting DVD I have
tried so far!
Many thanks!
Jose
