still same response with Q*.iso, on both linux24, linux26
I had responded to the list re my attempts w qemu
not sure this got thru, i am on digest....
to repeat some of what i said then:
the quantian iso did pass the md5sum check,
not sure this means anything
# qemu -kernel linux24 -initrd minirt24.gz ../Quantian_0.7.9.2.iso
Could not open '/dev/kqemu' - QEMU acceleration layer not activated
in the qemu window several pages of response
so it at least starts but finally fails:
VFS: mounted root (ext2...).
attempt to access beyond end of device
01:00: rw=0, want=4193, limit=4096
...
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadaptor, errno = 2
VFS: cannot open root device "" or 08:01
please append a correct "root=" boot option
<<<< is this last a qemu required part of the execute line?
Kernel panic: VFS: unable to mount root fs on 08:01
does this tell you anything re the the quantian.iso being corrupt or not?
Dirk suggested retrying w debug options,
but i dont know anything about that
is there a specific howto on this?
any other ideas?
Jack
