AARGHHHH!!!!! BLUSH,
 qauntian-0.7.9.2 now booting as per lilogrub howto

I was sure my grub.conf was correct
and it was, in so far as correct  {hd1,4)   and /dev/sdb5

_but_ the kernel and initrd lines were both split because of
inexpert copy cmd (my fault entirely) from the lilogrub howto

This method  still looks like magic to me. practically effortless.
oh well i learned something about  qemu

altho i dont really want to overload my brain w qemu or vmware
right now.
I have enough to do just retraining my redhat/fedora experience
into the debian/knoppix/quantian world
