For anyone else trying to do this thanks to a tip from Harvey Friedman
/----------------------------------------------
snipped>>>>
You have a cd of knoppix 4.0.2 which 0.7.9.2 was based on. If you
don't have it yet, download it and burn to CD but burn the iso image
so that several files result; DO NOT just copy the iso image as a
single file to CD Now, reboot your machine with the knoppix cd in it. W
hen prompt
comes up, give command
KNOPPIX BOOTFROM=/dev/hda3/Q*.iso lang=us
-------------------------------/
I have a dell box at home and all combination of cheatcodes didnot help
boot the Quantian so I have gone back to an earlier version of knoppix
and installed the packages. If anyone has better luck installing the
latest and greatest release of Quantian on a *dell* box I would be eager
to hear.
Thanks,
Kris
